Wilfred James Matthews was born in August 2011 at the Royal Shrewsbury hospital. We now know that Wilf had Acromicric Geleophysic Dysplasia, an extremely rare genetic disorder. This causes a complex range of health issues, the most critical of which affects breathing. Consequently Wilf spent a significant amount of his 3 years at Birmingham Children’s Hospital (BCH), some of which was in Intensive Care.
Sadly on Friday 5th September 2014 Wilf died.
Wilf’s Great Grandma says “Wilf was a lovely little lad, always smiling, and a brave little boy.” He touched the hearts of so many people, even those who did not know him personally.
Organising the Big Red Bus Ball is our way of raising some money to help support the charities that supported Wilf. We hope that you can join us.
